Hey all, here is a list of club volleyball websites that I would like you to consider if you plan on playing club volleyball this coming year.

    • Puget Sound VBC www.psvbc.com
I am personally involved with this club. It is traditionally one of the top clubs in the region. It’s a little pricing but not by much given traveling cost are included in the fee’s whereas other clubs it’s an extra charge. This club travels 2-3 times to Spokane, another national qualifier in places like Dallas Tx, also at the end of the season there will be a national tournament somewhere in the country we will attend. This club offers teams for all ages and generally an extra local team for freshman and sophomores. The fee’s for the local teams are less.
    • University Place VBC www.upvbc.org
This club started about 5 or 6 years ago and fields a couple of strong teams in the U16-U17 categories and each of the other age groups continue to get stronger each season. We have had a number of our players play there and have been very satisfied. I would not hesitate to tryout for this club. They also send some or most of their teams to Spokane or other qualifiers
    • The Edge Tacoma www.edgevolleyball.net
I believe last year was the first year for this club. The coaches are from TCC and have great reputations for their teaching and coaching. I don’t think they did much traveling last year and would guess their fee’s to be a little less than some but I don’t know this for sure. Again I think depending on your level of ability and desires this would be a great choice as well.
    • Narrows Tacoma www.eteamz.com/
narrowsLong time area club generally they field good team and sometimes flirt with the elite clubs of the region. My daughter Megan played for them for 3 years a while back. I have kind of lost touch with the coaching staff over the years. I know we have had a few of our players play here as well. They do send teams to Spokane, but not sure if they go other places. Another good choice for some of you.
    • Puyallup Juniors www.eteamz.com/puyallupjrsvbc/
I know a lot of players the play for this club and a couple of coaches. The do send teams to places like Spokane and Reno. I think you will find this club to be an upper middle club in the competition world with good coaching. You might consider them.
    • Kent Juniors (KJVBC) www.kjvbc.comAnother top elite club of the region. Very good teams top to bottom. In many ways similar to Puget Sound. Long time tradition of top level competition. We have not had any players play for them, I do know many kids that do. Main reason is it’s in Kent and there are closer choices, but if you have the desire to play for one of the best or perhaps the best club you might consider the drive over there.
    • Sports for Youth (Des Moines area) www.sportsforyouth.comVery good entry level club… we have had a few players go up there given they didn’t have much volleyball experience or didn’t make another team. I will say each came back a much better player than before their experience.
    • Lake Tapps www.ltvbc.com
This is there second year. Last year they just had one team U-15. They have expanded to 3 teams 2 U16 teams and 1 U17 team. I know most of their players and some of their coaches. All are great people, this might be a solid place to tryout or at least some consideration. However I think they practice over at Auburn Riverside… so again there are closer choices.
    • Northwest Juniors www.nwjuniors.com
This club keeps expanding… for years they were just up north of Seattle. Last year they set up a few teams down in Kent. The have been around for a long time and this past season had a couple of teams do very well… qualifying for a national tournament. A bit of a drive but still another choice for you.

Here is a list of other clubs… most are farther drives but still are choices to consider

There are others hopefully I didn’t leave any local ones out. That was not my intention. All clubs have something to offer you as a player. Please players and parents consider club volleyball. It’s a great family activity. Most teams practice twice a week and play 1-2 tournaments a month. Generally on Sundays.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me.

See you all at the banquet,

    Coach John

First, I want to thank everyone who tried out this year. This has been the most talented group of players in all the years I have been at Stadium. However like with any competitive situation some don’t make it. Nothing makes me sadder than having to cut players.

Like I said tonight, if you didn’t make the team and want to continue to play please come talk to me about playing club volleyball this winter. Also, the varsity team will be looking for 2 managers that will help at practice everyday, keep stats, and travel with the team to help with our success. I will be awarding varsity letters to those who are willing to join the team as managers.

I will be in the gym by 8:45am to talk to anyone that has a question about the teams.

Thank you again from myself, Pat, and Rochelle.

First, I gave the girls my cell number on Friday. If they can’t make it to a practice they must contact me via email or phone. If this does not happen they know what the consequence will be. I hope that this is fixed and we will not have this problem again. Lets have a great last two weeks of the season!!!!
    GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, Erika’s parents would like to have a Team Dinner. I am thinking that next Tues., the 16th would be a good day,let me know if that would work for everyone. The night before our last match. (sad!!)

Here is the schedule for the week, please respond so I know you recieved it!!

Mon, 8th: Regular Practice 3:30-5:30 Please be warmed up and ready to start when I get there!!

Wed, 10th: You have a half day, you will practice with John from 11-1:30. I will not be there, I expect a great report from John. If you can’t make practice you must contact John by phone or email. If this does not happen you will not play on Thurs.

Thurs, 11th: Home Game against Mt. Tahoma. Be there at 2:45.

    Fri, 12th: NO PRACTICE!!!!!!

Monday we travel to North Kitsap which is in Poulsbo. The bus leaves at 3:15, which means all players must be at the school no later then 2:50. Please bring a snack for the ride up. The games start at 5:00 for the JV/C teams and the varsity starts at 6:30. After the game we will stop at a McDonalds type of fast food place for dinner. Which means most of them will probably be asking you for money! J

Parents if you prefer not to have your child eat at a fast food restaurant then please send some kind of sack dinner. This is our only stop on the way home type of trip. We will get in and out as soon as possible.

Also I would like to thank you all for getting your kidders picked up quickly after the bus gets home. It makes it much easier on me.

    Coach John

    Hey all,

I would like to have an end of the year team parent meeting to discuss the season after the season. We will hold it October 12th at 5:30 in the auditorium. You have heard me talk about wanting to raise enough money for the varsity to participate in the Reno Festival this next summer. If we are going to do this then we need to start the planning process now. If we choose not to proceed with this then we need to come up with other ideas such as a team camp, etc.

Also for the next upcoming season I would like to enter the JV team in two tournaments like the varsity currently does.

What I am hoping is we can officially / unofficially what ever is correct put together a volleyball booster club so we can plan how we might be able to raise some money between the end of the season and next year. If we can accomplish this vb booster club perhaps next year it can take over the Serve-A-Thon too. It looks like we will have a record year for this event. At the meeting on the 12th, I will have numbers on how much money the volleyball club has in ASB so we can work around this. I will also have some numbers on entry fee and hotel costs etc for everyone to review. At this time this is my goal, but if you parents don’t think it’s the right idea then I would be open to other suggestions.

Here are a list of major money needs regardless

Reno Festival est cost 3000.00 (I will bring better numbers to the meeting) My thought on transportation I am assuming there will be a handful of parents that want to go and hopefully we can drive/car pool to save on air fare.

    Summer League Fife 300.00

    2 JV tournaments 400.00

1 varsity tournament 200.00 (school budget pays for the other)

I know the Reno Trip is costly but I think it would be a great experience team bonding experience and would like it to be an annual thing. I have been going for a number of years and it is a great learning experience and a lot of fun even for the parents.

Other things we need to consider and get volunteers to help with

End of the year banquet… Last season Angie and Dan McCormack did it and did a great job. Who ever volunteers I recommend getting their advice on how they set it up. It was the best one we had since I have been at the school.

Senior Night which will be Oct 17th which is our last home game. We have only two seniors this year (last year I think we had 10!) but it would be nice to get a parent or two to work with the Junior class leaders to make this happen.
One more thing on the parent booster club, please if your daughter plans on continuing with our program come to the meeting. We need to all pitch in to help build the program!

Sorry again about the confusion on the North Kitsap schedule… as for the other note the only thing that changes is the date, the dinner stop etc is still on.

If you have any questions like always please contact me.

    Coach John

I really don’t do much in the proofreading of my notes so please excuse me on this. These emails are very time consuming but necessary so I apologize for the typo’s and grammar. J

Also don’t forget the serve-a-thon on Tuesday. I am excited to announce we have parents from both the JV team and the C-team willing to bring pizza so it’s now a full team pizza party and serve-a-thon. I hope a lot of you parents get a chance to come watch. We will start serving around 4:00 to 4:15 and should be done with everything by 5:45.

Please let me know if your child needs to start serving earlier so they can still take the activity bus home at 5:00.

Also, it would be nice to have some volunteers to do lines and keep some stats. Currently we are not keeping stats for the JV team or the C-team. It would be nice if we could get some parents to do it? Let me know if you can help out.
