    Parent Meeting & Sand vb Weds 20th; 6:30 start

    I have decided to tackle the issue of a Parent Meeting from a different angle. So here goes, June 20th at Steele Lake Park in Federal Way, we will have a combination team meeting and potluck. There are two sand volleyball courts there. This will replace our Wednesday night practice.

    The time for this event will be 6:30 to 8:30. The parent meeting will start after we eat which will be approximately 7:30ish. Over the next couple of days I would like to find a couple of parents volunteers that would be willing to help plan the food end of this. Contact me if you can help. I think if everyone brings a dish or desert we can have a nice meal and a chance to get to know each other better at the same time.

    Some of the topics for the team meeting are as follows:

    - I would like to see how we can put together a booster club for the volleyball club.
    - I will be reviewing the rest of the summer and the upcoming season.
    - We need to talk about how the parents can help during the upcoming season.
    - Also we will be talking about a weekend team campout for sometime in late July or around Labor day. I will be looking for 3-6 parent volunteers to help chaperone this event. Those willing will start the organization of this as soon as possible.
    - Practice day volunteers are also needed. Right now we are looking for a new JV coach. Valerie will be moving back to Portland her home town now that she is done with college. This leaves me short handed to work with all the players. It would be great if some of you parents would like to help with some of the practice.

    I guess the long and the short of all this is to let you know what our needs are and how you can help if you have the ability to do so. I believe we are headed in the right direction with the volleyball program and your support will be greatly appreciated and needed. Hey, it’s fun stuff too !! ?
